Latent Defect Remediation & Interior Renovation
Miliani Construction was contracted by Miami-Dade County to perform critical interior renovations and structural remediation at the Animal Services Pet Adoption & Protection Center. The project addressed severe latent defects and widespread moisture intrusion affecting multiple areas of the facility.
The scope required a comprehensive approach to stabilize the building, repair structural damage, and implement long-term solutions to prevent future deterioration—all while maintaining strict public-sector standards and operational continuity.

Comprehensive Remediation & Building Envelope Strategy
Miliani executed a full building envelope sealing and remediation strategy, including joint resealing, wall system upgrades, and crawl space stabilization. All interventions were designed to eliminate moisture infiltration and improve long-term durability.
Work was performed in compliance with strict municipal standards and safety protocols required for public facilities.
Large-Scale Structural & Environmental Stabilization
The project included significant structural work, such as leveling crawl spaces with over 40,000 cubic feet of flowable fill and reinforcing building systems to ensure stability and performance under demanding conditions.
Technical Scope: Moisture Remediation & Infrastructure Upgrades
Scope included replacement of damaged interior wall systems, installation of ceramic finishes for durability, full ceiling replacement, and upgrades to fire safety components. Mechanical ventilation systems were introduced to regulate humidity and improve air quality across the facility.
All work was executed as a single-source solution, including materials, labor, and specialized equipment required for completion.
